A case report- Scorpion bite with autonomic dysfunction and myocardial ischemia
Abstract :
Local treatment of scorpion bite includes measures to reduce pain, immobilize the affected part, apply a topical anesthetic agent to decrease paresthesia, prophylaxis administration of tetanus, administration of systemic antibiotics, combination of beta-blockers with sympathetic alpha-blockers is most effective in reversing this venom-induced effect. Such as prazosin, nifedipine, nitroprusside, hydralazine, or angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors are used commonly. Antivenom is the treatment of choice after stabilization.
